Architected the first end-to-end design system integration at Southwest Airlines by using Figma Variables REST API and Style Dictionary to output design tokens across 3 platforms (web, iOS, and Android).

Refactored 45+ React core components across 2 platforms (code and Figma) to use design tokens, consumed across 25+ SPAs and used by 80+ developers. Defined core component theming styles as design tokens from a single centralized Figma file.

Implemented a new semantic color palette across web and native platforms, modeled from Google’s Material Design design token architecture, ensuring cross-platform styling consistency and allowing all Southwest customer-facing platforms to reference a single source of truth for the first time.

Led dark mode implementation end-to-end across all core components – from initial POC, through design token updates in code and Figma, to migrating all packages and SPAs to a new centralized theming mechanism.

Drove design token adoption and governance for color and typography across 5 designer groups – recorded walkthroughs, held onboarding sessions for each team, and followed up individually until tokens were correctly applied across all active projects.

Built and shipped a component taxonomy AI skill using the Figma API, enabling any developer to audit design layouts for component library compliance without requiring the original author’s involvement, making design system compliance audits scalable across teams.
